Potty Training Update

Since my last post Jace has not been doing so well with the whole "number two" thing, but Yesterday he finally went in the potty again. He likes to do it when no one is around. I was doing hair and he came into the salon with poo streaks all over him. He was screaming, "Mommy I did it, I did it" Sure enough he had went in his potty! Since he did it himself I'm sure you can just imagine the mess I had to clean up. It was all over the outside of his potty chair, I actually have no clue how it all happened, but I was thrilled that he actually went. Then today he sat on the potty four times trying to go, but couldn't. A few minutes later he came in from outside looking pretty much the same as he did yesterday and said, "Mom, I went poo poo outside" Which he DID!!!!! Oh man, what am I gonna do with this kid???? But hey, at least it wasn't in his underwear. That's gotta count for something!!!

WOOOOO HOOOOOO!!!!!!

Jace FINALLY pooped in the potty!!!!! This is about our fourth attempt at potty training and I decided that I was going to stick with it this time No Matter What!!! He will be 3 in a few months and I just figured it was time! So the last week and a half we have been working really hard at it. He has had the peeing thing pretty much down, he even wakes up dry most mornings. Pooping on the other hand is a whole different story. He had NEVER ONCE pooped in the potty. We tried bribing him with absolutely EVERYTHING we could think of, but the little terd would always sneak away and poo his underwear, SOOO nasty!! Finally last night I was just staning in the kitchen doing dishes, Jace goes and sits on his potty and sure enough, HE POOED!!!! I was Freaking out!! I started screaming and dancing, trying to make a BIG deal out of it!! We took him straight to the store and let him pick out a new truck! I am just hoping and praying that it was NOT just a one time thing!! We shall see!

Ty has all these little army Micro Machines from when he was little. He told Jace that as soon as he pooed in the potty he could play with them. Jace was sooo excited to finally get them!!

Aiden's First Haircut

I decided to finally give Aiden his first haircut. I was already chopping on Jace's by the time he was two months old, so I thought it was about time for Aiden!! It was nothing big, just basically cut all the long straggly one's and evened it up!!

A lesson in, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"

So I got some hair extensions about a month ago and I have been absolutely Loving them!! I'm in the process of trying to grow my hair out right now and it is at that ugly medium length so these have been the perfect solution.
BEFORE

AFTER

When I got them I dyed my hair and the extensions all the same color so it would match perfectly, which they did. Well I fealt like the top of my hair was looking a little light and had kinda a redish tone to it. I decided to slap some color on the roots to even it all out.....OOPS!!! I used a different solution than I normally use and needless to say, it turned my Roots (about half way down my head) BLACK!! I had black roots with brown ends, NOT CUTE!! I was so mad I didn't even get a picture of it. So the next day I went to the beauty supply, picked up some color stripper, went home and slapped it on!! After 20 minutes of sitting under the dryer I picked up my hand mirrior to check out the progress. As I looked in the mirror shear panic struck!! I was ORANGE!! What the heck?!?! So I ran to the bathroom to rinse the crap out of my hair, this whole time thinking to myself, WHY didn't I just leave my hair ALONE in the FIRST place?!?!?!

By then it was 5pm, I had a party I was suppose to be at at 7pm and I was standing in my salon with orange hair!! So anyways to make a long story short, I slapped on More color, it turned pretty much black again and I went to my party!! I was so ticked! After a few days of letting it fade it actually matches my extensions really well again. YAY!!! But I sure learned my lesson! Everything doesn't always have to be perfectly perfect!!! If it's good enough.....Just Leave it ALONE!!

FAIR DAY

We took the boys and met Gramdma Olsen, Evynn and Avrie at the fair this week. We had a great time. Avrie and Jace had a blast riding all the rides!

The Motorcycles were Jace's absolute Favorite!

Jace thought he was SO COOL driving this huge Fire Truck all by himself!!

Some weird girl trying to get our attention!! No, it's Tyler's sister Evynn and her daughter Avrie.

Ty giving Jace some tips on how to play the game!!

It Worked!! Look at his Big Sword he Won!

On to the petting Zoo......

How Cute are they?!?!?! Jace Loves his cousin Avrie!

And Last but not least,The RODEO!! Jace gets so excited about the rodeo, he especially LOVED the Barrel Racing this year. I know, weird!! Everyone else is just trying to get through the Barrel Racing to get to the Bull Riding, but not him, it was the highlight of his night!

Now for my cute little baby. He did so good all day long. Since it was so hot out, he got a little fussy while riding in the stroller. We all took turns packin him around. Then he was Lovin Life!!

My Wake up call

So everyone has their “way that works” for them as far as putting their kids down. Well, what works for us is… Putting Foil over Jace’s window and shutting the blinds so it is as dark as possible in there, Locking him in his room so he can’t open the door and get out, turning on music on his CD player and turning a fan on so it drowns out all surrounding noise. This is our regular routine and it works well. So lately he’s been figuring out that you sleep when it’s dark outside and are awake when it’s light. Most mornings around 8:00 I will hear him get up, lift up his blinds, peel away a little piece of foil to see if it’s light outside. Within a few seconds I hear a, BANG BANG BANG, on his door. Seriously it’s so loud, it makes me jump almost every time even though I know it’s coming. When I go to his door to let him out he says, “MOM, IT’S NOT DARK AGAIN” in the most high pitched exciting voice you’ll ever hear! It makes my little guy so happy. Naps on the other hand, not so good. He argues and argues with me because, “It’s not dark again mommy” so he thinks that he shouldn’t be going to bed. It’s a battle every day, but guess who wins…..I Do!!!

Elephant Blank

We took Jace’s binki away when he was around two. It was quickly replaced with what is known as, his “Elephant Blank”. I got it for my shower, and little did I know that it would become Jace’s little attachment!
He loves this thing. He has to have it for every nap, and at bedtime. I feel like sometimes I spend half the day looking for Mr. Elephant Blank. Every morning when he wakes up he greets me at his door with his blanket all wadded up in a ball in his little arms. Usually chewing on a chunk of it.
He absolutely refuses to let me wash it. I have to be Very sneaky when doing so. If he wakes up and his sheets are wet, he will tell me that I need to wash his blankets. When I try to grab his elephant blank he says, “No this one’s Not dirty!!” One time he caught me switching it from the washer to the dryer and needless to say he won the battle and walked around cuddling a wet blanket for the rest of the afternoon. He is so protective of it. We have been really trying to work on him as far as sharing things, but this is one thing he WILL NOT share. Not even with his little brother.
In all I’m glad that he has something that he finds comfort in. I don’t know how long it will last, but as for now I think it is adorable.

Jace was holding Aiden on the couch. He looked down at him and said, “Aiden Aiden, You my best friend!!” It was the most precious thing I’ve ever heard......Can't wait til Aiden starts to feel the love as well!!!
-9/1/09-
Ty always is teasing Jace. Whenever Jace is being obnoxious Ty will say, “Jace, I’m gonna spank your butt.” I always say, “Ty, don’t say butt, say Bum cause I don’t want Jace saying butt.” So the other night we were eating dinner and Aiden was in our room crying and Jace said, “Aiden’s crying!” Ty says “Aiden’s in Time Out!” (kidding of course) Jace proceeds to say, “Dad, are you gonna spank his Butt!!!” Ty was laughing hysterically and I just sat there and glared at him like, see I told you!!!
